Kaspersky Antivirus Banned from Sale in the US!

Kaspersky’s antivirus has become one of my favorite programs; I’ve used Kaspersky Internet Security for about five years to protect my device from viruses.
Now, let’s talk about this antivirus. According to a Reuters report (via Neowin), the Joe Biden administration recently announced that the sale of Kaspersky antivirus in the United States would be prohibited due to concerns that the application was being used by critical infrastructure providers and state and local governments.
As a result, the US administration is concerned that Kaspersky may have intimate links to the Russian government, which is now at war with Ukraine and is known to receive covert US backing. The US government also feels that Kaspersky offers a significant risk since it has privileged access to computers, which may be used to steal confidential papers or render systems vulnerable to cyber assaults.
The prohibition on Kaspersky itself covers downloading updates, resellers, and acquiring licenses. The restriction is set to go into force on September 29, 2024, so enterprises in the United States who are still using Kaspersky should look for alternatives.
