The One UI 7 update for Samsung Galaxy is expected in the coming weeks. A previously unknown leaker wants to provide a first insight into the software update.
Samsung Galaxy: What will change with One UI 7?
In recent weeks and months, most of Samsung’s software has concentrated around the One UI 6.1 upgrade, which introduced various AI capabilities to the current Galaxy flagships, including the “Circle to Search” function. However, an upgrade to One UI 7 is already on the way, most likely as part of the new Android 15 version, which will be unveiled on August 13 at the “Made by Google” event.
Chun Bai, an X/Twitter user, claims to have acquired information on certain aspects of the One UI 7 upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy from an undisclosed inside source. According to this, the new user interface would be heavily inspired by iOS 18, which competitor Apple has planned for autumn 2024.
The notification bar, for example, will be separated into two sections: a notification center and a control center. Depending on the swipe action, one of two parts appears here; similar to Apple or Xiaomi, the notification center displays the most recent messages, whilst the control center is meant to provide rapid access to settings.
Aside from that, Chun Bai promises “rounder icon symbols” and lock screen widgets that follow this design style. In addition, the camera interface will be updated for all Galaxy smartphones running One UI 7, and fast settings will be moved to the top bar rather than the bottom.
